Engagement Story from You Tube

Our video is on You Tube!

Hello All-

After many years of using You Tube, I have finally made myself an account. It took me long enough, don't you think? So, I uploaded our little engagement story onto You Tube yesterday. It took the WHOLE DAY to upload this thing!!!! It was 2.4 GB, which I'm told is a large file. I couldn't upload it at my house in Eau Claire because my internet is too slow, so I just waited until I came to Ed's place in Milwaukee.

You can watch it either here on our blog, or you can go to You Tube and search for "Ed and Rachel's Engagement Story." I hope you can share it with others. ; - )

Speaking of Milwaukee, on Friday Ed and I went to a Cubs game together. It was pretty much my first baseball game, unless you count the one I went to when I was ten. We wound up with FREE tickets from Ed's work. Our seats were in section 216, just to the right of home plate. I could see the players really well! I am now considering myself a Cubs fan, because that's Ed's favorite team. I also think that I look good in baseball hats.

It has been such a nice weekend because we haven't talked about wedding things at all. Sometimes it's nice to take a break from all this planning. I'm always grateful for the time Ed and I get to spend together because we live so far away from each other. It's harder to be away from each other now that we're engaged. Good news, though! We'll be married in less than nine months!

We've Set a Date!

Finally, we've got a date for our wedding! We're going to "tie the knot" so to speak, on June 4, 2011. I cannot even contain how excited I am about getting married!

After a lot of looking, we've even decided upon a reception site. Our first choice, Quivey's Grove, was taken, so we had to keep searching. I've always wanted an outdoor wedding reception, but with Wisconsin weather, you never know. So, our reception is going to be inside at the Nakoma Country Club. This is everything we could ever want and more. (Picture to come soon!) It has a huge dining room with windows. This is one of the few places we've looked at where you can seat over 200 people with round tables. It also has a library/lounge area with couches, PLUS a bar area! Oh, and did I mention that it also has an outdoor patio area?

I'm getting all of these ideas now and it seems that all I'm thinking about these days is weddings! Even Ed has started to dream about weddings! Invitations, colors, dresses, flowers.... my head might just explode! I think we can both breath a sigh of relief now that we've found our reception site. Know everything will fall into place. I even think that we've found a perspective photographer!

That's all I've got time for now. Stay tuned!
